Having graduated with a First Class Honours Degree in Chinese Medicine from the University of Portsmouth, Andrea Steinlechner was invited to complete a postgraduate clinical placement in China, at the Beijing Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine. While in China, Andrea was “baptised” as An Jia.

Andrea is a member of the British Acupuncture Council (BAcC). Prior to studying acupuncture she worked with the maternal health research at the LSHTM (London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine).

With a particular interest in woman’s health and all aspects of gynaecology Andrea has undertaken research in the treatment of breech presentation. She has also undertaken post-graduate training in the treatment of gynaecological disorders, including menstrual disorders, pregnancy, post-partum depression, fertility and IVF assistance as well as stress, anxiety, insomnia and digestive disorders,  musculoskeletal disorders and spinal complaints. Andrea is currently studying for a Masters degree in Chinese Medicine, where she is studying herbs. Her research focus on haemorrhage (blood loss) and its relationship with post natal depression.

As well as a wealth of knowledge and experience in treating many medical conditions, Andrea's areas of special interest include:

Andrea is a fully licensed and CRB checked member of the British Acupuncture Council (BAcC) who has post graduate training in spinal injuries, gynaecology and pregnancy and is constantly further developing her knowledge in Chinese as well as Western medicine. She is able to offer hospital visit in to Central London NHS hospitals as well as the Portland Maternity Hospital and some birth centes.
